2nd Annual Medical & Health App Development Workshop

Date:
Friday, April 13, 2018 - 13:00 to 18:00

Medical Software Hackathon - You're invited to join the finalists!!

Come help us develop apps that can be used in medicine and health!

You're invited to join one of the final teams (listed below) during our 2nd annual Medical & Health App Development Workshop on Friday, April 13, 2018. We welcome students, residents, fellows, interns, and faculty of all disciplines, including social sciences, public health, engineering, etc.

Sponsored by the Clinical and Translational Science Institute at Children's National (CTSI- CN), we are hosting a half-day medical and health app development workshop (hackathon). The purpose of the hackathon is to learn by doing in developing the requirement and prototype user interface for medical and health software applications.

At the workshop, we will start with short talks from experts on human factors engineering and the regulatory environment for medical and health apps. We wlil then divide into small groups to brainstorm requirements and user interfaces for these 10 ideas. After each group presents their concepts to all the participants, the judges will pick the winning app/group. The idea originator will receive up to $10,000 of voucher funding for prototype development. We aim to make the event a fun and lively afternoon that is also professionally rewarding.

Food and drink will be provided as well.

Location: Milken Institute School of Public Health, George Washington University
