Tuesday, May 14, 2019 - 8:30am to Wednesday, May 15, 2019 - 4:30pm
The Virginia Commonwealth University Community Engagement Institute brings together people who share a commitment to solving today's grand challenges through community-academic partnerships. The free, two-day event provides faculty members, community partners and graduate students with the opportunity to build a fundamental understanding of the principles of community engagement in the 21century.
The event draws on local expertise and energy, enabling participants to learn directly from the faculty and community members who are engaged in this work. The 2019 Institute will open with a keynote address from Gerry Moeller, M.D., director of the VCU Wright Center for Clinical and Translational Research, who is harnessing community-academic partnerships to move the needle on the opioid epidemic.
