What is this resource?
The Participant and Clinical Interactions Core of the CTSI-CN offers a variety of Research Laboratory Services and is proud to offer Genomics/Proteomics support as part of the Genetic and Proteomics Core.
Genetic and Proteomics Core
The Center for Genetic Medicine Research and the Department of Integrated Systems Biology host a series of regional and national core facilities. The goal of these core facilities is to facilitate research across the institute as well as external laboratories, through applications of specialized technologies and expertise to investigators’ projects. The core houses state-of-the-art equipment purchased through institutional funds, philanthropic donations, and research grants, totaling more than $10 million. Providing other investigators easy access to these facilities and equipment is an important value shared by the faculty.
Genomics/Proteomics capabilities are designed to support rigorous CTR investigations and training by:
Providing state-of-the-art emerging technologies for clinical and translational research
Offering specialized resources from design through analysis for large or small projects
Moving high-value novel methodologies and discoveries from innovation to implementation
Sample services include:
Sequencing (whole exome, targeted, microbiome, RNA/miRNA)
Illumina and Affymetrix Arrays (profiling, methylation, transcriptome, etc.)
Mass Spectrometry (metabolomics, labeled proteomics, post-translational modifications), 2-D Gel
Bioinformatics, Statistical Genetic Analysis
SNP analysis, ELISA, NanoString, RT-PCR
