What is DC I-Corps?
The DC I-Corps Program is for investigators and entrepreneurs who are moving ideas from the research lab to the marketplace.
The Innovative Strategies and Services Component of the CTSI-CN provides strategic consultancy for investigators and other personnel who are moving ideas and discoveries into products for commercialization. This is a critical step and probably the most foreign to investigators as it is the one where getting out of the research environment is required.
Our CTSI-CN partner organization, George Washington University (GW), in collaboration with the National Science Foundation, University of Maryland, Virginia Tech, and Johns Hopkins University has introduced a program that is designed to give researchers the Lean Startup skills and tools to advance down the commercialization path. The program is a combination of in person lectures/meetings held at GW, WebEx sessions and customer development interviews.
Who can use this resource?
DC I-CORPS applicants must meet certain requirements and be prepared to dedicate a significant amount of time to the program. Participation in the program is free, and a limited number of $5K commercialization grants are available to teams with eligible participating GW-appointed faculty, researchers, and/or students.
